Mindful Collective, LLC
Speech and Language Pathologist
Rachel is a certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked with children and adults with speech, language, and feeding disorders since 2017. She has extensive experience supporting individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of needs, including speech and language delays, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, fluency disorders, feeding aversions, and infant feeding and swallowing challenges. Rachel is certified in Feed the Peds, SOFFI, and SOS, equipping her with specialized training to support complex feeding and swallowing needs.
She has collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, including doctors, occupational therapists, psychologists, and dietitians, to provide comprehensive care for children with feeding tubes, rare genetic disorders, and complex medical conditions. Rachel is passionate about child-directed, family-centered care and strives to empower families to reach their goals in a way that feels safe and sustainable for them.
Rachel’s personal experience with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and a childhood history of pediatric feeding difficulties provide her with a unique, empathetic perspective in therapy. Having grown up with severe food aversions that impacted her health and nutrition, she understands firsthand the emotional and physical challenges that come with feeding struggles. This fuels her commitment to creating safe, pressure-free environments where children and families can build positive relationships with food.
Beyond clinical work, Rachel is a dedicated advocate and researcher in the field of pediatric feeding disorders and ARFID. She serves as the Consortium Chair for Feeding Matters, leading efforts to advance awareness, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve outcomes for children with feeding challenges. Through her work with Feeding Matters, she has collaborated with experts across multiple disciplines, including occupational therapy, psychology, gastroenterology, early childhood education, WIC, and nursing, to expand support and resources for families.
Her ultimate goal is to help as many children and families as possible navigate feeding challenges with confidence. She believes that food should not be a source of anxiety or stress but rather an experience that engages the senses, nourishes the body, and brings joy.
Rachel takes Medicare, Medicaid/KanCare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, TriCare East/West, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, Aenta, and more!
